NEW LOCATION FOR WARMING SHELTER
Beginning March 1, the city’s seasonal warming center will move from South Congregational Church to the First United Methodist Church, 24 Old Church Street.
Although not a shelter, the warming center provides temporary respite from the cold for those in need. Beds and meals are not provided. Individuals can bring personal belongings but items can not be stored.
The warming center is open daily to the public seven days a week from 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM and will continue to operate until the cold weather subsides.
The warming center is sponsored by Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness and operated by St. Vincent de Paul. Funding is provided by donations from the City of Middletown, St. Pius X Church, Liberty Bank, Middlesex Hospital, Seasons Federal Credit Union, and River Valley Services.
For more information on the warming center or to make a financial contribution, call (860) 344-0097.
