11/1/2011 - Curbside Bulk Waste Collection Suspended

Curbside Bulk Waste Collection Suspended

The Public Works Department has suspended curbside bulk waste pickup until at least January 2012, maybe longer.   The curbside pick up is always suspended Nov. 1 to allow for the timely collection of leaves. This year, due to the unprecedented snowstorm in late October, the curbside bulk waste collection must be suspended to allow for the collection of storm brush, and then leaves.  Once the leaves and brush are picked up, the curbside collection of bulk waste ($75/pick up) will be resumed.

Bulk Waste can be brought directly to the Middletown Recycling Center, located on the corner of Johnson St & North Main St.  The Recycling Center is open Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and every Saturday in November, 7:00 am - 12:00 noon.  December - March the Recycling Center continues to be open Monday - Friday, but is only open the first and third Saturday of the month.  Material is weighed and charged $84.50/ton at the Recycling Center. Payment is made by check or credit card only.
