The State of Connecticut has banned the disposal of certain household electronics and trash to energy plants and landfills. City residents can now recycle household electronics at no charge at the City Recycling Center.
Acceptable items include:
Televisions, Computers, Printers, Monitors, cell phones, copiers, fax machines, ipods, PDAs, modems, stereo and radio equipment, telephones, typewriters, speakers, microwaves, digital cameras, VCRs and DVD players.
Middletown residents must present a Middletown drivers license or a bill with a Middletown address at the Recycling Center to demostrate residence.
The Middletown Recycling Center is open Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and the first and third Saturday of the month 7:00 am to 12:00 noon. During the months of April -June & Sept - Nov. the Recycling Center is open every Saturday.
